I have been restoring vintage acoustic guitars that have come my way with very positive results. Old Harmony, Stella, Silvertone, Kay, Regal acoustics were low cost guitars when they were built and produced in great numbers during the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. Many of these are still kicking around and have great vintage wood with amazing tone properties. However, the structural integrity and playablity has been lost on the majority of these. I have basically reconstructed them to make them comfortable to play with decent action, properly intonated up and down the neck while still retaining the vintage tone of 50+ year old wood. Most of these jobs include a neck reset, a new bridge that is lightweight and durable, bone saddle, bone nut, re-fret and often re-radius of the fretboard. The tuning machines are replaced if needed as well as inlays. Many of these guitars are available for purchase from me directly for a fraction of what you would pay for a vintage Gibson or even Kalamazoo. Feel free to get in touch for inventory, prices or info.
